Pipeline Technique has been awarded its first project in Nigeria in partnership with Charkin Maritime. The two companies have joined forces to create a new entity to provide welding and field joint coating services for the Ikike field offshore Nigeria.
Situated 20km offshore, the Ikike oil field development lies within the OML 99, in 20 m water depth and approximately 15km north of the Amenam-Kpono field.
The welding will take place on board the Barge Resolute, where two pipelines will be welded – multiphase pipeline 12.75” (323.85mm) x 20.6mm wall thickness and water injection pipeline 12.75” (323.85mm) x 15.9mm, both lines DNV-SMLS-450.
PTCS will carry out welding and field joint coating qualification tests for both pipelines.
In addition, the company is investing in the training and qualification of 20 welders for the automatic welding process and 16 field joint coating applicators at the newly established training centre at the Charkin Maritime Facility in Port Harcourt.
The new entity, Pipeline Technique Charkin Systems (PTCS), is based in Port Harcourt. For more information contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
